Our personalized wellness plans focus on restoring balance and well-being. Some of our techniques provide immediate relief, allowing your body to function as intended.  Pain is a signal that something is wrong. Seeking chiropractic care can significantly reduce pain and discomfort using natural methods.  Spinal and extremity adjustments are common techniques for addressing back, neck, and joint pain. These adjustments can improve mobility and range of motion.  Ignoring pain can lead to further injury as your body compensates. Our chiropractors will diagnose the problem and provide targeted solutions.

At Columbia City Sports and Spine, we specialize in treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Our comprehensive approach allows us to get to the source of the problem resulting in a faster recovery and decreasing your chances of this problem returning in the future.  Through one-on-one therapy sessions, we combine adjustments of the joint and manual therapy techniques with progressive exercises to restore function, alleviate pain, and prevent future injuries. Our goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools to achieve optimal health and well-being.

Our Services

  • Chiropractic care is grounded in the belief that the body possesses an inherent ability to heal itself when provided with optimal structural and functional conditions. This specialized field focuses on the relationship between the body's structure, particularly the spine, and its function, as coordinated by the nervous system.

Adjustments, the primary form of treatment, involve precise manipulations to the vertebrae using controlled force to improve joint mobility. This activation not only offers immediate relief from musculoskeletal discomfort but can also contribute to the overall enhancement of the body's physiological functions over time.

Dr. Nick is trained in many different chiropractic techniques and after completing his initial evaluation he will be able to recommend which treatments would be most effective in treating your problematic area.  He understands chiropractic treatment varies from provider to provider and encourages you to ask questions so you feel comfortable with moving forward with a treatment plan

  • Pediatric chiropractic care is a specialized form of chiropractic care tailored to the unique needs of children. It focuses on gentle spinal adjustments and other techniques to improve children's overall health and well-being. By addressing spinal misalignments and nerve interference, pediatric chiropractic can help alleviate a variety of childhood ailments, including colic, asthma, allergies, growing pains, and sports injuries. Additionally, it can help manage conditions like scoliosis, postural issues, headaches, and migraines. Pediatric chiropractors are trained to use gentle, child-friendly techniques to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.

  • Functional corrective exercises are specific movements designed to address muscular imbalances and movement dysfunctions. By targeting weak or overactive muscles, these exercises help to restore proper movement patterns and improve overall performance. These exercises often focus on core stability, flexibility, and strength, and can be tailored to address individual needs and goals. By incorporating functional corrective exercises into a training routine, individuals can reduce the risk of injury, enhance athletic performance, and improve daily functional activities.

  • Active Release Technique (ART) is a targeted, hands-on therapy used to relieve pain and restore mobility by addressing adhesions and tension in muscles, tendons, and fascia. Through precise movements and applied pressure, ART releases soft tissue restrictions, improves flexibility, and enhances overall function. Whether you’re an athlete or dealing with everyday muscle discomfort, ART offers a personalized approach to pain relief and performance enhancement.

  • The Graston Technique is a form of manual therapy that utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to identify and treat areas of soft tissue fibrosis or scarring. This technique involves using the instruments to apply pressure and break up scar tissue and fascial adhesions, promoting healing and reducing pain. By stimulating blood flow to the treated area, the Graston Technique can accelerate the healing process and improve range of motion. This technique is often used to address a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including neck and back pain, shoulder pain, tennis and golfer's elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, and headaches.

  • This technique offers support for muscles, tendons and ligaments that have been overworked and/or are overly weak. This will help the body remember how to create patterns of functional and pain-free movement.

  • The FMS is a tool used to identify asymmetries and functional movement deficiencies. By assessing performance in seven fundamental movement patterns, the FMS can reveal imbalances in mobility and stability.  These movement patterns challenge the body in extreme positions, highlighting weaknesses and limitations in locomotor, manipulative, and stabilizing movements. Once these deficiencies are identified, a customized program of corrective exercises can be developed to prevent musculoskeletal injuries.

  • A youth musculoskeletal assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of a child’s bones, joints, muscles, and posture. This assessment includes a thorough review of the child’s medical history, such as previous injuries, family medical background, growth and developmental milestones, and activity levels. A physical examination follows, focusing on posture, gait, joint range of motion, muscle strength, and neurological function. This evaluation helps identify potential issues, including postural deviations, overuse injuries, growth plate issues, congenital conditions, and inflammatory concerns. Early detection and intervention are essential for managing musculoskeletal issues in youth.

Parents play a vital role in supporting their child’s musculoskeletal health by encouraging regular physical activity, promoting good posture, ensuring proper footwear, teaching correct techniques for sports and activities, and paying attention to any complaints of pain or discomfort. Dr. Nick is especially passionate about early movement education. He believes that if he had learned to move correctly at a young age, he could have minimized or even prevented some of his own injuries. He began working with his daughter at age five, guiding her through full-body functional assessments. Get ahead of the game and schedule a youth assessment before your child experiences pain.
